Bill Clinton praises Indian pharma companies
The former US President praised Indian generic drug companies for their contribution in their fight against AIDS.
Mumbai, April 11, 2013: Former US President Bill Cliton praised the Indian generic drugs manufacturing companies like Ranbaxy and Cipla for their contribution towards fighting HIV/AIDS, saying that the drugs has saved millions of lives.
Clinton, the 42nd president of the United States, said that the generics from Cipla and Ranbaxy came handy to the Clinton Foundation to treat AIDS patients in the Caribbean close to a decade back. It may be noted here that Cipla sharply cut the prices of generic HIV medicines close to 10 years back dramatically transforming the fight against the dreaded disease.
"I told myself that never again will I come to India without saying a thank you," Clinton said.
