Biocon to launch a new drug for treating Psoriasis
The first clinical trial of the drug has shown encouraging results and the company plans to launch the new drug in the near future.
Chandigarh, November 17, 2012: The Indian biotech firm, Biocon will soon launch a new drug to be used for the treatment of inflammatory skin disease Psoriasis. It should be noted here that the first clinical trial of the drug has shown encouraging results.
"We have done the first trial for Psoriasis (and have seen) startling improvement in curing this disease. That is the drug we hope to enter the market soon," as per Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Chairman and Managing Director, Biocon.
She also said that Biocon has a major share in the insulin market across the globe with a strong 60 per cent share in Mexico and a huge presence in markets like Latin America and North America.
