Ministry of Health seeks pharma companies' views on simplifying business processes
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has sought pharma companies' views on simplifying business climate in the industry.
January 21, 2016: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has sought pharma companies' views on simplifying business climate in the industry. Information was sought on the number of permissions required from various agencies and the time required to get them.
Also the Drug Controller wants the industry to give suggestions in terms of simplification of processes. Dr G N Singh, Drug Controller General of India stated, "In pursuance of the policy of the Government of India to facilitate growth of the industry and drafting policies to provide ease of business, a holistic view of policies relating to difficulties of the pharma industry is being undertaken"."In this regard, the ministry is considering the various difficulties faced by the pharma industry, especially in respect of initiating business in India and improving the regulatory mechanism for the pharmaceutical sector," Singh added.
Some of the earlier suggestions received for studying gaps in production in the sector included fast tracked processes, single window mechanisms, faster environmental clearances and processes for land acquisition.
