Pharmexcil plans to set up warehouse in Latin America and Africa
The move is expected to benefit the small scale pharmaceutical manufacturers in expanding their geographical reach.
Ahmedabad, November 2, 2012: Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) will soon have warehouses in Africa and Latin America following the cooperative marketing model. The Council is already in discussion with a few pharmaceutical associations in both the destinations.
It has been learned that the Council plans to rent the warehouses to the small scale drug manufacturers. It is seen a move which will help expanding the reach of the small scale drug manufacturers.
The project is expected to kick off with one country each from Africa and Latin America and if it turns out to be successful, the Council will expand its geographical reach. It is worth mentioning here that a minimum of five countries need to come together to be able to avail this facility under the marketing cooperative model.
Pharmexcil plans to open a warehouse in Nigeria in Africa while the location for Latin America is still not finalised.
It may be noted here that Pharmexcil is a leading industry body focusing on pharmaceutical exports and set up by Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
