Ranbaxy, Daiichi Sankyo collaborate to expand business in Brazil
Ranbaxy will support the entry of Japanese firm in the Brazilian market.
New Delhi, April 18, 2013: Ranbaxy Laboratories has announced a collaboration with its Japanese parent Daiichi Sankyo to expand their business in the Latin American nation. As per the terms of collaboration, Ranbaxy will support the entry of Daiichi Sankyo in the branded geneerics market of Brazil in addition to its established business of providing innovative products.
It may be noted here that Ranbaxy is already a strong name in the generics market in Brazil and the collaboration with help the Japanese firm to expand its business in this lucrative market.
The Brazil pharmaceutical market is the biggest in Latin America, and it is expected to become the fourth biggest in the world in 2016. In fact, it may be recalled here that both the firms integrated their operations in Thailand earlier this year as part of the strategy to maximise synergies.
