Cadila Pharma to set up a bulk drug facility in Rajasthan
The drug company will soon begin construction of its second Indian facility outside Gujarat.
Ahmedabad, September 15, 2012: The Ahmedabad-based Cadila Pharmaceuticals has acquired land in Rajasthan to set up a bulk drug facility in the region. It may be noted here that the new facility will be the second Indian facility for the company located outside Gujarat.
As reported, the company has already acquired the land and the construction is expected to begin as soon as the environmental clearance is secured. For the record, the company was restructured by Indravan A Modi, founder director of the erstwhile Cadila in June 1995 to Cadila Pharmaceuticals.
The company has a facility at Samba in J&K which is used to manufacture the soft gelatin capsules. In Gujarat, the company has facilities in Dholka, Ankleshwar, Kadi and Hirapur. In addition, the company also has an international drug manufacturing facility at Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.
Cadila Pharma, a known name in the anti-tuberculosis segment, the company has two joint ventures: Cadila Pharmaceuticals (Ethiopia) Plc and CPLBiologicals Pvt Ltd, the latter being with US-based Novavax Inc.
