Domestic Pharma firms focus on OTC segment

Domestic pharma companies are focusing on the Over the Counter (OTC) segment with companies coming up with new products and marketing campaigns.


November 03, 2015: Sun Pharmaceuticals launched a better version of its top selling brand Volini, while Dr Reddy's came up with Nise-D , its pain killer spray. Cipla is also planning to get into the nutritional product segment.


The OTC segment is worth Rs 13000 crore and is witnessing double digit growth. The segment is dominated with firms marketing herbal and ayurvedic products and dietary supplements.
