Global alert system for indian pharma firms
The country is planning to set up a global alert system, with the mechanism where a drug regulator from any country could report on unfair practices adopted by Indian pharma firms.
May 26, 2015: The step comes close on the heel of recent reports of Indian pharma firms involved in unfair practises like manipulation of USFDA rules. "We have planned an international alert system and will be convening a meeting in this regard mid July this year. Any company found indulging in unfair practises will be strongly dealt with". said Dr G N Singh, Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI).
