Lupin to have the highest R&D spend
Lupin would be making the highest R&D spend in the pharma industry soon. Lupin has been spending 7.5-8.75 per cent of its turnover on R&D over the last five years and is inching towards 10 per cent soon, while the average R&D spend in the pharma industry has been 5 per cent to 7 per cent.
July 14, 2015: Lupin has transformed itself into a global company with 11 manufacturing sites in India, two in Latin America and Japan and one in Russia. Its market capitalisation increased from USD 400 million in 2004 to over USD 12 bn currently with a revenue of USD 2.2 billion.
