Panacea Biotec gets order worth US$ 13.5 million
The order has been received from the global health agency PAHO.
New Delhi, February 4, 2015: Panacea Biotec has received an order worth US$ 13.5 million from the global health agency Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO). The order is for supplying EasyFive-TT Vaccine. The 5-in-1 vaccine protects infants from five potentially deadly diseases, namely, Haemophilus Influenza type B (the bacteria that causes meningitis, pneumonia and otitis), Whooping Cough, Tetanus, Hepatitis B and Diphtheria.
"The company has been awarded for supply of 5.99 million doses of EasyFive-TT (DTP-HepB-Hib) fully liquid Pentavalent Vaccine for calendar year 2015 and 2016 worth USD 13.49 million (equivalent to around Rs. 83.52 crore) to meet the requirements of global immunisation program," the company said in a BSE filing.
It may be noted here that the company has got this opportunity to work with PAHO after a gap of three years. PAHO is a specialised health agency of the Inter-American System and serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization.
